At the base of the White River Plateau, Rifle is where ranchers gather, deer and elk hunters talk Big Game. About 15 miles north of town, you'll find Rifle Gap State Park that features Rifle Falls a cliffside with three waterfalls filling a small pond. Families will enjoy the easy walk to and around the falls.

The Rifle Creek Museum, in the town's former city hall, exhibits area history with themed rooms that features everything from Native American artifacts to an old-fashioned general store.

Silt is between Glenwood Springs and Rifle in the arid mountains along I-70. The Silt Historical Park is just a few blocks from downtown across from the school. Here guests can walk through 7 buildings that have been relocated and restored to reflect what life was like in Silt around the 1900's. In the summer months, tour guides lead visitors through log cabins, a cow camp, country store, tool shop, and old school house. The Ryden Ranch Maize Maze, a local cornfield maze, is another popular attraction in Silt.

Exploring the Colorado River is another way to discover the area: enjoy fishing, bird watching and rafting along this amazing River as it makes its way out of Colorado to the Grand Canyon.

Harvey Gap State Park is Silt's backyard playground. Stocked with rainbow trout, crappie, catfish, and small-mouth bass, the lake is especially popular for fishing. The 160-acre lake is also ideal for windsurfing. The park is covered in cedar and sagebrush and offers places to hike, picnic, snowmobile, and cross-country ski. White River National Forest is an easy place to spot wildlife such as elk, mule deer, mountain lions, black bears, coyotes, foxes, wild turkeys, and pheasants.
